This 8 days wildebeest calving safari in Tanzania is a typical eight-day safari that we provide to see wildebeests giving birth in northern Tanzania. It also includes a trip to the Ndutu Plains, which are located south of the Serengeti National Park. In order to provide you with a variation and to divide the driving into reasonable distances, we have included the Tarangire National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater in our 8-day itinerary for Tanzania, which includes the day of arrival.
In order to reach the Ndutu Plains for their calving season, the Wildebeest Migration herds cross the Central Serengeti in the months of November and December after leaving the Masai Mara and returning to the Serengeti. This area is technically in the South Serengeti but is administratively part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the Ndutu plains, this mating season lasts from December to March.
