A 5 days safari from Zanzibar is a great way to experience the best of Tanzania’s wildlife and scenery. You will visit four of the country’s most popular national parks, including Lake Manyara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Tarangire.

You will depart from Zanzibar and fly to Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania’s safari parks. After checking in at Arusha Airport, you will meet your guide and driver for a briefing on the upcoming safari. You will drive to Lake Manyara National Park, where you will spend the day on a game drive. Lake Manyara is known for its large elephant’s herds, giraffes, tree climbing lions, and baboons. You may also see zebras, wildebeest, and hippos.

You will drive to the Serengeti National Park, the most famous wildlife reserve in the world. The Serengeti is home to the famous annual migration of wildebeest and the world known “big five”. You will also see lions, elephants, giraffes, and many other animals.

You will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Crater is home to a wide variety of animals, including lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, and rhinos, and all the big five. You will also see many different types of birds.

You will drive to Tarangire National Park, home to a large population of elephants. You will also see lions, giraffes, zebras, and many other animals.

After your 5 days safari, you will fly back to Zanzibar.

ITINERARY

Day 1

Zanzibar to Lake Manyara NP

Flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport at 8:00 in the morning. You will arrive at Arusha at around 9:20cam. You will then travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a half-day game drive.

The park has some of the best game watching in the entire world and is definitely a photographer’s paradise. Many of Africa’s most well-known creatures are likely to be there, with the tree-climbing lions being a special treat. They nearly beg to be shot as they sunbathe among acacia trees.

Lake Manyara is an excellent treat for birdwatchers, with a large diversity of birds on exhibit throughout the park. Large flamingo flocks, circling raptors, and the vividly colored purple breasted roller can all astonish even a beginner.

Later in the evening drive to your lodge in karatu for dinner and overnight

Day 2

Karatu to Serengeti NP

After breakfast, we depart for the renowned Serengeti National Park, which is where the Great Migration begins. The spectacular Ngorongoro Crater may be seen from above by driving up the crater highlands and stopping at the rim. As you continue, the vast Serengeti opens up in front of you. The Serengeti, which in Kiswahili translates to “endless plains,” is a 6,900 square mile (18,000 square km) park home to more than 2 million big animals, including more than a million wildebeest. Large predators like lions, cheetahs, and hyenas are drawn to the area by the availability of migrating prey. Among the smaller animals that reside there are the rock hyrax, bat eared foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and African hares.

Later in the evening the driver guide will take you to your lodge/camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3

Serengeti NP

This entire day is reserved for Serengeti game drives. The massive herds of zebra, antelope, and wildebeest that migrate through the Serengeti each year are widely recognized. Numerous creatures, like as impala, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippopotamuses, can be found in the Serengeti. The weather has an impact on the animals’ migration, which varies from year to year. In November and December, the animals move from the hilly and forested northern region to the grassy plains of the southern region. During the longer rainy season, which lasts from April to June, they relocate back to the north. Along with the migratory herds, we may also have the opportunity to see local predators like the lion, cheetah, and leopard.

Later in the evening you will drive back to your accommodation in the Serengeti

Day 4

Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast, you’ll journey from Serengeti National Park to the Ngorongoro Crater.

When you first view Ngorongoro Crater, it seems like a mysterious place. The towering volcanic walls conceal a natural ecosystem of vast grassland, isolated pockets of acacia woodland, and dazzling lakes and wetlands. A large volcano that erupted two to three million years ago and then collapsed in on itself to create The Crater.

You are immediately surrounded by sizable herds of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, and more than 500 different bird species when you reach the bottom of the Crater. An adventure in and of itself is the descent into the Crater. You have the best chance to see the highly endangered black rhino in the Crater.

Later you will ascend the crater and drive to your accommodation in Karatu

Day 5

Tarangire National Park to Zanzibar

After breakfast, you’ll make the brief trip to Tarangire National Park. One of Tarangire’s most well-known characteristics is its sizable elephant herds. From the open roof of the car, you can see the Tarangire River, the savanna, and the seasonal marshes while looking for animals such the zebra, wildebeest, buffalo, elephant, and giraffe. You might be able to see a lion hunting its prey or a leopard watching and relaxing in the branches above. After lunch in the park, your safari will come to an end and you will return to Arusha Airport to catch your flight back to Zanzibar
