You may now combine climbing Mount Kilimanjaro by Marangu route you want with your favourite safari in Tanzania thanks to the 11 days Mount Kilimanjaro and Safari package. In response to popular demand, we have created an example combined itinerary that combines climbing Mount Kilimanjaro (Rooftop of Africa) with a 4-day safari in Tanzania.
The jagged Mawenzi, at 5149 meters, and the “flat-topped,” glaciated Kibo, at 5896 meters, are Kilimanjaro’s two main peaks, and this is the simplest path to climb it. Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa. The two are divided by the Saddle, a 5 km wide, high-altitude semi-desert. Glaciers, screes, cliffs, afro-alpine moorland, and ultimately woods descend from the peak to the developed foothills.
The Marangu Route + Tanzania Safari
You go through these vastly varied zones along the Marangu path at a leisurely pace.
A very early start is made for the hike to Uhuru Peak from Kibo Hut since the scree is easier to climb while frozen and the views from the crater rim at dawn may be breathtaking.
