KIZIMKAZI DOLPHIN TOUR

Have you ever imagined what it would be like to swim alongside dolphins? Come with us in this extraordinary and one-of-a-kind adventure in Kizimkazi village, located on the south coast of the island. Accompanied by a knowledgeable guide, embark on a locally crafted wooden boat excursion from this quaint coastal fishing village. Afterward, immerse yourself in the vibrant marine life beneath the surface as you snorkel. The coastal waters surrounding Kizimkazi are renowned for hosting a variety of dolphin species, including bottle-nose dolphins that frequent the area year-round for sustenance, nurturing their offspring, and socializing. Additionally, more elusive humpback dolphins occasionally grace the area with their presence, although their appearances may be less predictable.

Dolphins are known for their friendly, gentle, and playful nature. They enjoy the company of people and are skilled at socializing. The opportunity to observe them up close, perhaps even interact with them gently and gaze into their captivating eyes, is an incredible experience, likely to be cherished forever as it may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. This dolphin cruise in Zanzibar is ideal for families with little children, couples, and everyone who enjoys the ocean. You will be delighted to share this special and unforgettable experience with friends and family.

Depending on the weather, the tour is conducted either early in morning or in the afternoon. If you opt for the morning tour, hotel pickup is scheduled for 6:10 am, while the afternoon tour begins with pickup at 2:45 pm.

Since this tour lasts for only half a day, it offers excellent value for money and can be coupled with the well-liked Spice Tour or the Jozani Forest Trip, since the forest is situated en route to Kizimkazi, we conveniently pass through it on our return journey from the dolphin tour.

While dolphin-spotting is a sought-after activity, it’s important to note that sightings aren’t guaranteed 100%. Additionally, swimming with dolphins is a rare occurrence, similar to encounters with other wild animals. Spotting dolphins requires patience and time, as they roam freely in their natural environment and are not confined to cages or zoos.

Zanzibar, surrounded by the Indian Ocean, boasts a protected environment that is free from sharks, offering consistently warm temperatures throughout the year. This makes it an ideal destination for adventurous water sports enthusiasts.

Kizimkazi is home to a 12th-century mosque, marking the earliest evidence of Islam in East Africa, making it a significant cultural and historical site worth exploring. We recommend that clients wear their swimming costumes for the tour. Additionally, waterproof sandals are advised for boarding the dhows, and bringing sunscreen is also recommended for sun protection during the excursion.
