Overland travel to Kigoma is possible but not recommended for those seeking comfort and efficiency. The rough terrain and long distances make driving a challenging option, while buses and trains from Dar es Salaam can take up to two days, a test of patience best suited for adventurous spirits rather than luxury travelers.

Once you arrive in Kigoma, the journey to Gombe continues on Lake Tanganyika. Traditional lake taxis and private boats are the only means of reaching the park’s remote location.
