Day by Day

Day 1: Arrival in Dar es Salaam

Upon arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will be transferred to Slipway Hotel on the scenic Msasani Peninsula. After check-in, you can relax at the hotel or explore the nearby beachfront area, with options to visit local markets or enjoy seaside dining.

Days 2: Dar es Salaam to Kigoma – Transfer to Gombe Forest

Morning flight from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma Airport. Upon arrival, transfer to Kibirizi Port, then take a boat ride to Gombe Stream National Park. Arrive at Gombe in time for lunch.
After lunch, embark on a guided hike in the forest to spot chimpanzees and other primates like colobus monkeys.

Day 3: Gombe – Fishing and Hiking

Start the day with a fishing experience on Lake Tanganyika, learning traditional techniques used by local fishermen. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, enjoy another guided hike to observe chimpanzees in their natural habitat and explore Gombe’s lush rainforest

Days 4: Gombe – Morning Hike & Relaxation

Start your day with an exhilarating morning hike through the lush forests of Gombe Stream National Park, tracking wild chimpanzees in their natural habitat. In the afternoon, unwind by the tranquil lakeshore or take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of Lake Tanganyika. Soak in the stunning scenery and serene atmosphere before spending the night at Gombe Resthouse, surrounded by nature’s beauty.

Day 5: Gombe to Kigoma – Visit George Livingstone Museum & Transfer to Katavi

After breakfast, take a boat ride back to Kigoma.
Visit the George Livingstone Museum, which highlights the history of Dr. Livingstone’s exploration in Tanzania. Then transfer to Katavi National Park.
Upon arrival in Katavi, transfer to your lodge or camp. Overnight at Budget banda located inside Katavi National Park.

Day 6: Katavi National Park – Full Day Game Drive

Spend the entire day exploring Katavi National Park on game drives. Encounter large herds of buffalo, elephants, lions, and other wildlife in one of Tanzania’s most remote and untouched parks.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park.

Day 7: Katavi flight to Dar es Salaam

After an early breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Katavi Airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Dar es Salaam.
