Day by Day

Day 1: Nairobi to Masai Mara National Reserve

Your exciting safari adventure begins with a convenient pick-up from your Nairobi hotel around 7:30 am (depending on your location). The journey to Masai Mara National Reserve takes approximately 6 hours, offering stunning views along the way. The first stop is at the Rift Valley viewpoint, where you can marvel at the vast depression that forms part of this UNESCO World Heritage site.

Upon arrival at Masai Mara, you’ll check into your camp and enjoy a delicious lunch. Afterward, get ready for your first afternoon game drive through the park, where you will have the chance to spot the iconic wildlife of the Mara, including the Big Five and a variety of other animals and birds.

This thrilling day marks the start of your unforgettable journey through Kenya’s renowned wildlife destinations.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

Start your day with an early breakfast, followed by a full-day game drive through the Masai Mara National Reserve. This park, which forms the northern part of the world-famous Serengeti National Park, offers an exceptional opportunity to explore its vast landscapes and abundant wildlife.

During your adventure, you’ll have the chance to visit the Mara River, located along the border between Masai Mara and the Serengeti. Here, you may witness the dramatic migration of wildebeest, zebras, and other animals, as they cross the river in search of greener pastures. This is one of the most iconic spectacles of the Great Migration, depending on the time of year.

Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day, surrounded by the stunning wilderness, before continuing your game drive. After a full day of exploration, return to the Lenchada Tourist Camp for dinner and overnight stay, where you’ll enjoy comfortable accommodations and meals prepared just for you.

Day 3: Masai Mara National Reserve - Lake Nakuru National Park

Begin your day with an early morning game drive to capture the wildlife at its most active. Afterward, return to the camp for a late breakfast.

Next, you’ll depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, with a scenic journey that includes a picnic lunch en route. As you travel, take in the picturesque landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. If time allows, you’ll have the option to visit Lake Naivasha Crescent Island for a boat ride, offering a chance to spot wildlife such as giraffes, antelopes, and various bird species on the island.

Arriving in the evening at Lake Nakuru, you will check in at Lanet Matfam Resort for dinner and your overnight stay. This resort offers a relaxing retreat after a day filled with wildlife adventures.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park - Lake Naivasha

After an early breakfast, embark on a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, where you can witness the famous flamingos that flock to the lake, along with over 350 bird species. The park is also home to black and white rhinos, as well as other wildlife such as Colobus monkeys, giraffes, leopards, and various species of antelope. This park is renowned for its conservation efforts, particularly for the protection of endangered rhino species.

Following your morning exploration, depart for Lake Naivasha, with a picnic lunch along the way. Upon arrival, enjoy an optional evening boat ride on Crescent Island, a prime spot for birdwatching and wildlife sightings, including giraffes, zebras, and a variety of bird species.
In the evening, head to Dove Nest Lodge for a delicious dinner and a comfortable overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, depart for Hell’s Gate National Park, a unique park that allows visitors to explore on foot or by bike. Here, you will have the opportunity to visit the Geothermal Power Plant in Ol Karia and see the Hot Springs, a fascinating natural wonder. Hell’s Gate is renowned for its dramatic scenery and diverse wildlife, and it offers a chance to explore the park in a way few other places allow.

For those interested, there is an optional boat ride to Crescent Island where you can enjoy close encounters with wildlife like hippos, giraffes, and various bird species.

Afterward, enjoy a delicious lunch before departing for Nairobi. Arrive in the city by 5:00 pm, where you will be dropped off at your hotel, concluding your incredible 5-day safari adventure.
