Day by Day

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Your adventure begins with a hearty breakfast at your hotel or residence, followed by a warm meet-and-greet with your safari driver-guide who will brief you on the exciting journey ahead.

Enjoy a scenic drive with several fascinating stopovers, including the Uganda Equator along Masaka Road. Here, you’ll have the unique chance to stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres simultaneously! Participate in the famous water swirl experiment and capture memorable photos. You’ll also find a variety of local souvenirs perfect for keepsakes or gifts.

After this experience, continue your journey through Uganda’s rolling countryside toward Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving in time to check in and relax at your lodge.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Rise early for a thrilling morning game drive through the diverse landscapes of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This drive offers a chance to spot a variety of wildlife, including members of the Big Five, buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, and (if lucky) rhinos. Keep an eye out for hyenas, warthogs, and other resident species, as the park comes alive in the cool morning hours.

Drive through the Kasenyi plains, a known hotspot for lions and other predators, while enjoying the presence of grazing antelopes and Uganda kobs. The wetlands and salt lakes in the area attract abundant birdlife, especially vibrant flamingoes and a variety of stork species.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxing boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a 36 km natural waterway connecting Lake George and Lake Edward. This cruise is a safari highlight, offering up-close views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, and elephants bathing along the shores. Watch for water birds and shoreline creatures through your binoculars as your boat glides along one of Africa’s most wildlife-rich aquatic habitats.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kalinzu Forest & Transfer to Entebbe

After an early breakfast, head to Kalinzu Forest Reserve for an exciting chimpanzee tracking adventure. This forest is home to over 300 chimpanzees, with a community that is habituated for tourism. Accompanied by experienced guides, you’ll trek through the lush forest, listening for calls and rustling leaves that signal the chimps’ presence. Once found, enjoy an unforgettable hour observing these intelligent primates in their natural habitat.

Following the trek, begin your scenic drive back to Entebbe or Kampala. Enjoy a lunch stop in Masaka, and a final visit to the Uganda Equator, where you can take photos, explore local crafts, and experience the famous water swirl demonstration.

Continue onward to Entebbe International Airport or your hotel, marking the end of your 3-day Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari in Uganda.
