Day 3: Explore Chobe National Park

Start your day early with breakfast, before heading out for a morning game drive in Chobe National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. Located on Botswana’s northeastern border with Namibia, Chobe covers 11,900 square kilometers of diverse ecosystems, including savanna plains, rivers, swamps, and scrublands. It is home to the world’s largest elephant population, with up to 120,000 elephants migrating to the Chobe River during the dry season for water.

In addition to elephants, Chobe is renowned for its large herds of buffalo, zebras, and wildebeests, along with rare species like puku, roan, and sable antelope. These herds are often accompanied by predators such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, making for incredible game viewing.
After an exciting morning, you’ll return to your lodge for a midday lunch and a short break. In the afternoon, you’ll venture back into Chobe National Park for another thrilling game drive, returning to the lodge just before sunset.

Day 4: Kasane - Savuti

After breakfast, you will depart your lodge and travel southward to Savuti, where you will spend the night. Savuti is renowned for its dramatic game viewing, offering vast open landscapes and an abundance of wildlife, including large populations of predators such as lions and spotted hyenas.

Savuti’s landscapes are perfect for spotting these apex predators, as well as zebras, wildebeests, and other prey species. One of the most intriguing aspects of Savuti is its Savuti Channel, a 100-kilometer watercourse that, at times, stops flowing and remains dry for many years. When the channel flows again, it transforms the Savuti Marsh and Mababe Depression into a lush wetland, attracting a variety of wildlife and water birds. This unique phenomenon creates a magnificent oasis for wildlife.

Birdwatchers will delight in the presence of species such as kori bustards, which can be seen hunting snakes and rodents, and korhans, whose mating calls fill the air. The wide-open spaces of Savuti make it a paradise for birding enthusiasts.

Accommodation: Mid-range Camping – Stay inside Savuti (Chobe National Park, Botswana) for an authentic, immersive experience in the heart of the wild.

Spanning an area of 1,800 square kilometers, Khwai is located in the northeastern Okavango Delta, bordering the famous Moremi Game Reserve. This area features a diverse ecosystem with a mix of lagoons, grasslands, permanent floodplains, and expansive Mopane woodland forests. The abundance of habitats supports a wide range of wildlife, including top predators like lions, leopards, wild dogs, cheetahs, servals, and African wildcats.

In the afternoon, you will venture out for another game drive, possibly witnessing the breathtaking sunset over the Khwai River, a perfect way to end the day.

Other resident species include Southern Giraffe, buffalo, Burchell’s zebra, Tsessebe, Greater kudu, impalas, and various nocturnal species.

The area is a birdwatching paradise, with a variety of raptors and water birds, offering excellent opportunities for wildlife photography.
