Full Itinerary

Day by Day

Day 1: Full-day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park

Your safari adventure begins today! You will be picked up by our driver from your hotel in Zanzibar and driven to the airport for your flight to Arusha Airport. After you land in Arusha from Zanzibar, you will meet our driver and he will drive you to Tarangire National Park.

From the airport, and head straight to Tarangire National Park in the Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park.

Ranking as the 6th largest national park in Tanzania and covering an area of 2,600 square kilometers, it is most popular for its large elephant herds and is usually very dry, in fact, drier than the Serengeti. However, its vegetation is much greener with lots of grass, vast areas with mixed acacia woodlands and some of the wonderful ribbons of the aquatic forest. Also, do not forget about the giant baobab trees that can live up to 600 years, storing between 300 and 900 liters of water.

In the afternoon you will break for lunch. After lunch, the game drive continues until you start driving to your lodge. It is now time to relax, dine, swim and relive the memories you collected during the day.

Day 2: Game Drive en-route to Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up and depart to Serengeti via the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. On the way, you will enjoy scenic views of Tanzania, hop off the vehicle to view the Ngorongoro Crater and experience the Serengeti plains.

Serengeti National Park is a World Heritage Site teeming with wildlife. Over 2 million ungulates, 4,000 lions, 1,000 leopards, 550 cheetahs and some 500 bird species inhabit an area close to 15,000 square kilometers in size. Today, most visitors come here with one aim alone, to witness millions of wildebeest, zebra, gazelle and eland on a mass trek to quench their thirst for water and to eat fresh grass. During this great cyclical movement, these ungulates move around the ecosystem in a seasonal pattern, defined by rainfall and grass nutrients.

Lunch will be offered on the vehicle during the safari. By late afternoon, you will arrive at your designated lodge to rest, dine and cherish the greatest moments you gathered during the safari.

Today you will go on a full-day game drive. After an early breakfast in your lodge in Serengeti, resume from where you left off the previous day. Our experienced safari guide will accompany you to find the Big Five animals in their natural habitat.

The magic of Serengeti National Park is not easy to describe in words. Not only seeing, but also hearing the buzz of millions of wildebeest so thick in the air that it vibrates through your entire body. It is something you will try to describe to friends and family, before realizing it’s impossible. Vistas of honey-lit plains at sunset are so beautiful, that it’s worth the trip just to witness this.

You will carry your packed lunch which you will enjoy when making a pit stop in your safari vehicle. After lunch, continue with the game drive. By late afternoon, you will head back to your lodge to rest, dine and cherish the wonderful moments.

Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It is indeed the flagship tourist attraction of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Its home to the vast, volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and the Big Five game (elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, and rhino). Day 5: Game Drive at Ngorongoro Crater

Breakfast at your lodge you will descend early into the Crater floor for game drives in the Ngorongoro Crater. The earlier you descend to the Crater floor so you may descend after breakfast or even with a packed breakfast in order to be at the Crater floor as early as you can and better your chances of seeing the rare animals like Black Rhinos with a little luck.

Spend the better part of the morning exploring the Ngorongoro Crater until lunchtime. Ngorongoro Crater with its 600 to 650-meter-high walls is like a natural zoo with the highest concentration of wild animals and it is here where you can even spot the Big Five even in one day if lucky enough. After picnic lunch which you will most likely take at the hippo poolside designated picnic site, you will drive up the Crater rim and out of the Conservation area.

You will return to Arusha where you will arrive later in the afternoon to connect your flight bavk to Zanzibar.
