A 2-day safari from Zanzibar to Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater is a great way to experience the best of Tanzania’s wildlife. The next day, you will drive to Ngorongoro Crater and go on a game drive in the crater. The crater is home to a large number of animals, including lions, elephants, rhinos, and cheetahs. You will also have the chance to see some of the crater’s unique features, such as the Ngorongoro Soda Lake. In the evening, you will enjoy a farewell dinner at your lodge before flying back to Zanzibar.

Day 1: Fly from Zanzibar to Arusha

After your flight from Zanzibar to Arusha Airport, your driver guide will drive west to the gate of the well know Tarangire National Park, With a surface area of 2,850 square miles, Tarangire is Tanzania’s sixth-largest national park.

Large herds of roving elephants, a variety of species, and tree climbing pythons frequently sighted in the limbs of its towering iconic baobab trees are all highlights of this well-watered park’s notoriety. During the months of July through December, when a big number of animals migrate from Lake Manyara, this park is worth visiting to witness the ideal diversity of East Africa and Tanzania.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to Zanzibar

After an early breakfast descend into the crater by 6:30am, this time is essential for observing wildlife in action as they are still more active. The Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is popular with discriminating safari travelers since it is home to more than 25,000 large mammals and a vast array of smaller species. Packed with wildlife since there is always plenty of food and water on the crater bottom.

The enormous escarpments, flat grassy plains, yellow-barked Acacia trees, marshes, and lakes that attract massive flamingo migrations and more than 300 kinds of birds make this park one of the seven natural wonders of the world. Prior to making the trip back to Arusha Airport for your flight back to Zanzibar, enjoy lunch by the hippo pool.
