The Batwa tribal experience brings you close to the word’s shortest tribe at average height of 4ft, who continue to live away from technology.

As you go deeper into this trip, you get to truly appreciate Uganda’s unique tribal differences and language all squeezed in this relatively small landlocked country.

Day by Day

Day 1: Airport pick up

Your designated Ntungo Wildlife Safaris guide will pick you from the airport. He will drive to Kampala where you will check into you lodge. Later, drive towards Ndere center, where you will have a fun filled evening watching and taking part in music, dance and sharing of a local dinner. Ndere center is a locally owned cultural establishment, that was started to preserve Uganda’s diverse culture, and to showcase its richness to tourists from across the globe.

Later drive back to your lodge for the night.

Day 2: Buganda cultural Experience

Today, you will have an early start to your day with a hot breakfast. Later, drive to Ewaffe Cultural Village where you will spend the day learning about the Buganda homestead and village setting. The responsibilities of different members of a family. Have a hot local lunch with a rich cuisine

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

A full day’s journey with a lunch stop in Mbarara. An experience with Igongo cultural center as you see the Ankore museum. Continue towards Bwindi Impenetrable National park for the evening.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking

An early breakfast will start your day before your guide takes you to the Gorilla trekking starting point.  You will be allocated a habituated Gorilla group and a trained and experienced guide will take you on a journey to meet the gentle giants. On meeting the Gorilla, you will have opportunities for photography, and controlled interaction for an hour before returning to the lodge.

Day 5: Batwa trail

After an early breakfast, you will head into the Bwindi forest to meet and interact with the primitive tribes of the Batwa. The Batwa are the world’s shortest people living in the forests and coexisting with the Mountain Gorillas of Uganda. These tribes are known to not be affected by technology and still to this day go through life without never knowing or using technology in their daily lives.

After, have a lunch and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an afternoon boat ride. The boat ride takes you to see the 29 islands of Lake Bunyonyi. On the island, you will visit akampene island, a punishment island. Historically, the island is where young unmarried pregnant girls were taken and left to die as a lesson to the young ones.

Day 6: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

A relaxed morning and drive towards Lake Mburo National park. Check into lodge. Later on a community walk where you will get to iinteract with the local communities and souvenir shopping. Also use the rest of the day to relax at the lodge

Day 7: Home and farm experience

Today you will visit a local community where you will take part in activities which include farming, food preparation and cow milking.Have the rest of the day to rest and relax.

Day 8: Lake Mburo experience

Today you will start the day with a morning game drive where you get to see buffaloes, hippos,  lots and lots of giraffes and zebras. Later, a hot lunch before heading out for a boat ride along the shores of lake Mburo, the most significant physical feature after which the park is named.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala

A relaxed morning that transcends into a 4 hours journey to Kampala and ultimately to Entebbe for airport drop off.
