Day by Day

Day 1: Lake Nakuru National Park

Start your Kenya wildlife tour with an early morning pickup and drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its stunning flamingos. 

This alkaline lake, recognized as one of the natural wonders of the world, is also a rhino sanctuary, housing both black and white rhinos. The sight of nearly 2 million flamingos around the lake creates a beautiful spectacle. After lunch, enjoy an afternoon game drive.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve

Travel to Masai Mara, where the wild remains undisturbed. As the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem, the Mara is renowned for the annual migration of wildebeest and zebras, drawing numerous predators. 

Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an exciting afternoon game drive to witness the Big Five in action. Overnight at a lodge or campsite.

Day 3-4: Masai Mara National Reserve - Full Days of Adventure

Enjoy two full days in the Masai Mara, famed for its black-maned lions and the chance to see the Big Five. Cheetahs often seek shelter under vehicles, providing unique photo opportunities. 

Birdwatchers will delight in the variety, with nearly 500 species recorded, including eagles, falcons, and the world’s heaviest flying bird, the Kori bustard. Overnight at a lodge or campsite.

Day 5: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park - Cross the Border

Begin the day with a game drive in Masai Mara before transferring to Serengeti National Park via the Isebania border. The journey includes a full day of game viewing in both parks, offering unique opportunities to spot wildlife.

Day 6-7: Serengeti National Park

Spend two full days in Serengeti National Park, home to the Great Migration. This vast park, covering 6,900 sq miles (18,000 sq km), is a paradise for wildlife lovers, with over 2 million animals, including wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles. 

You’ll also spot lions, cheetahs, and hyenas as well as numerous bird species. On the second day, enjoy morning and afternoon game drives, with an optional visit to the historic Olduvai Gorge or a hot air balloon ride for a bird’s-eye view of the plains.

Day 8: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

After an early morning safari and breakfast, travel to Ngorongoro Crater, often called a “Noah’s Ark” due to its high concentration of wildlife. 

The crater, surrounded by 2,000-ft high walls, is home to a variety of species, including the rare black rhino and large bull elephants with massive tusks. The diverse landscapes within the crater include rivers, swamps, and a soda lake with flamingos. Overnight at a lodge or campsite.

Day 9: Ngorongoro Crater

Descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a day of wildlife viewing. After a picnic lunch by the hippo lake, continue your exploration of this extraordinary ecosystem before driving up the steep road and transferring to Lake Manyara

Day 10: Lake Manyara

On your final day, explore Lake Manyara known for its lush landscapes, acacia forests, and wildlife such as giraffes, buffaloes, and elephants.
